Surprise Stadium

Cactus League home of the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals. The city lists 10,500 seats on a 124-acre recreation campus with practice fields. Spring Training runs February–March. Confirm the current schedule and bag policy before you go.

Surprise Community Park

The city’s main recreation park next to the regional library and stadium campus. Official hours are daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The dog park is closed Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Asante Community Park

Neighborhood park on the west side of Surprise. Official hours are daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Bicentennial Park / Lizard Run Park

Oasis Swim Center + Rescue Oasis Park

City aquatic complex with a recreational pool, water slides, a competitive pool, and an adjacent playground / splash-pad park. Seasonal hours change. Do not assume it is open today — check the city’s Aquatics page.

Recreation centers

City rec buildings for indoor summer backups: Countryside (15038 N. Parkview Pl), Sierra Montana (14861 N. Spring Ln), Villanueva (15660 N. Hollyhock St), plus the Recreation Campus at 15960 N. Bullard Ave (stadium and fields). Call ahead for program hours.

White Tank Mountain Regional Park

Largest Maricopa County regional park at nearly 30,000 acres. Park hours: May 1–Oct 31, 5 a.m.–9 p.m.; Nov 1–Apr 30, 6 a.m.–8 p.m. Nature Center: May 1–Oct 31, 7 a.m.–2 p.m. Mon–Sat (closed Sunday); Nov 1–Apr 30, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. daily. Vehicle entry fee required.

Current alert: Trailhead Staging Area closed April 13–September 30, 2026 for construction. Check fire restrictions before hiking.

Lake Pleasant Regional Park

Northwest Valley lake for boating, fishing, and desert hiking. Main entrance hours: May 1–Oct 31, 5 a.m.–9 p.m.; Nov 1–Apr 30, 6 a.m.–8 p.m. Discovery Center listed Friday–Sunday 10 a.m.–4 p.m. County posts an annual fire ban May 1–Sept 30.

Peoria Sports Complex

Hike White Tanks or Lake Pleasant at official opening, not midday. Carry water. Confirm fire restrictions. For indoor days use the three Surprise libraries and city rec centers.
